PhD position in
“Cell polarity establishment in the early plant embryo”

The ideal applicant should have a background in molecular biology, genetics and/or biochemistry.

This third-party funded project focuses on cell polarity establishment in the zygote of the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana and cell fate acquisition in the resulting daughter cells in the early embryo. We are addressing molecular mechanisms of signal perception and transduction in asymmetric cell divisions using the ERECTA-YODA pathway as prototype MAP kinase signaling pathway. We are offering a stimulating, interactive work environment with state-of-the-art equipment.

Applicants should be highly motivated and technically versatile, ideally with a drive to work at the intersection of developmental genetics and protein biochemistry in an interactive, collaborative group. For more details, visit our lab website http://www.bayerlab.org or contact us directly.
