Zygote Polarization by the ERECTA-YODA Pathway
We want to understand how zygote polarization in flowering plants is controlled on a mechanistic level.
We use this pathway as prototype receptor kinase and MAP kinase pathway to study signal perception and transduction, specificity, adaption and evolution on a molecular level.

Signals of Fertilization and Embryogenesis
In this project, we are characterizing novel factors involved in pollen tube guidance, gamete interaction and egg cell activation.

Transcriptional Networks of Cell Proliferation and Differentiation
We are deciphering the transcriptional networks controlling stem cell identity and differentiation in different developmental contexts. Our main focus lies on the early embryogenesis and stomata development. In a comparative approach, we are also including shoot and root apical meristems.
